Volunteering

We love our Hillcrest volunteers! The best way to find volunteering opportunities is to check sign-ups on Konstella.
Volunteers must register with the Ed Fund, complete TB clearance and fingerprinting and mandated reporter training. Go to https://www.oaklandedfund.org/programs/volunteer/ to learn more.
When you arrive, sign in at the office and wear your Edfund issued ID or a Hillcrest visitor badge at all times.

Visits to classrooms or meetings with teachers must be arranged in advance. Please see our staff directory to email your child’s teacher to arrange this.
ALL visitors must check in at the front office and wear a Hillcrest visitor badge while on campus.
If you are dropping off anything for your student at school please deliver it to the office.

In addition to meeting the Ed Fund expectations for overnight field trips, chaperones will be expected to attend a training with Hillcrest staff prior to chaperoning.
As a chaperone, your role is to supervise ALL students and maintain safety.
The Hillcrest device free policy must be followed by students and adults off campus.

The bulk of Hillcrest’s PTA fundraising efforts go toward personnel. In the 2025-26 school year, the PTA will fund all or a portion of nine different staff members’ salaries, allowing us to provide an enriching and supportive environment for all of our students.
The PTA’s fundraising campaigns include the Annual Giving Campaign, Benefit and Auction, Walkathon, and retail fundraising. You can learn more about these efforts here.
By paying $6 to join the PTA, you can attend monthly meetings and vote on critical issues, including prioritizing how the budget is spent. You can learn more here.
